What is “PTA”?
Joaquin Miller Elementary’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) connects Miller’s families, teachers, staff, and community in the common goal to help our students get the most out of their time at their school. From www.pta.org: “PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.” At Miller, our PTA strives to provide educational opportunities through assemblies and school programs, connect parents with teachers and staff to learn what is happening at Miller, as well as provide family experiences to encourage and strengthen the community at our elementary school.
We encourage all families to join the PTA and learn more about what is happening at Miller, to share your concerns, and to help make Miller Elementary the best school for our children. Our success depends 100% on the time, effort, and input of the amazing parent volunteers and staff, towards programs that benefit every child at Miller. To learn more about joining the PTA or attending a meeting, please email MillerElemPTA@gmail.com.
What does Miller PTA do?
Miller PTA is a child advocacy organization that raises funds to provide the programs and events that our members vote on having. At Miller some of these programs include educational assemblies, classroom supplies and library books and materials.
Miller PTA also sponsors events to bring families and neighbors together, such as our Multicultural Family Festival, Spring Carnival and Movie & Tile Night.
We also support our terrific teachers and superior staff by hosting Teacher Appreciation Week and the Welcome Back to School Staff Luncheon.
